Do you have a heart for kids? We're looking for a director or even two directors to lead our Kids Hope USA mentoring program as consistent adult mentors from VUMC encourage and bring love to Tobey Elementary School. Kids Hope provides online training and a personal coach to the director(s) to prepare for this wonderful serving opportunity to help kids in life-changing relationships. The time commitment is about 5 hours per week during the school year. Our partnership with Tobey Elementary School is long-standing, and help is needed to keep it going. Interested? Pastor Greg would love to talk with you!

ONE makes all the difference.

One child, one hour is the heart of KIDS HOPE USA. One caring adult mentoring an at-risk child one hour every week. Because when kids feel loved and valued, they are better able to learn, grow, and succeed.

Kids Hope USA is a mentoring program that pairs ONE CHURCH with ONE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL to meet the emotional, social and academic needs of one child at a time. After being carefully trained, ONE MENTOR spends ONE HOUR a week developing a loving relationship with ONE CHILD while a prayer partner wraps their relationship in prayer. Kids Hope USA mentors spend just one hour per week, reading, talking, playing and listening to a child at school. By helping the child feel loved and valued, they help that child to learn, grow and succeed. You can change a life…and that’s no small change.

Vicksburg United Methodist Church has been committed to changing the lives of children in our community by partnering with Tobey Elementary in Vicksburg Public Schools. Caring adults give one hour to mentor children during the school year. These relationships become the start of helping local families find their way back to God, simply by demonstrating love and faithfulness every week.
